So Bri and I left this morning for the Katy Mills Mall after we heard on the radio that they would be open. We figured walking around the mall in the A/C was better then sitting at home in the heat with nothing to do. Once we got home we discovered we had power and I don’t think we have ever been happier.
So to recap, no damage to the house, our front yard tree came up a little bit but I think have it replanted, some plants in the back yard looked like they didn’t survive, and one fence plank came off (but it was loose to begin with).
After some driving around today we discovered we made out pretty well, lots of fences down, trees broken or up rooted, light poles down, but amazingly I don’t think we saw any damaged homes. The public soccer fields close to our neighborhood was completely under water. We have taken some photos and are uploading them to flickr if you want to see.
